CJ (my husband) bought a nice wool blazer at Goodwill for just $10. The next step was to get it cleaned, but I didn't want to spend an equal amount of money on getting it cleaned.
The key is to wash the jacket (or other item) by itself, on the gentlest cycle, and on cold. By all means, don't use hot or warm water!
After washing, dry the article of clothing on the lowest heat cycle. Don't use "no heat" because it'll never dry. Allow to dry about 10 minutes at a time.
